SSW 821

This loco was built in 10/1957 with EMD builder's number 24076. It was built as a freight engine. It was painted in black widow colors and featured a full set of sealed beam, gyralight and red UDE light on each end in a similar fashion to Pacific Lines freight GP9's.
She was assigned number SSW 3642 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SSW 3811 in 10/1975. It is not known at this time when she was repainted into the gray and red "bloody nose" paint scheme, but if she entered the GRIP program without it, she definitely emerged in the new scheme.
