SP 5873

This loco was built in 4/1959 with EMD serial number 25632. She was built as a freight engine. She was painted in the newly-adopted grey and red "bloody nose" scheme and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on each end. She featured a low front hood.
She was assigned number SP 3709 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She was not rebuilt as part of the GRIP program.
She was retired by the SP in December 1986.
She is currently undergoing restoration to operational status at the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum at Campo, CA.
