SP 5799

This loco was built in 4/1957 with EMD construction number 22981. She was built as a freight engine. She was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on each end.

She was assigned number SP 3640 in the 1965 system renumbering.

She was not rebuilt as part of the GRIP program.

She was renumbered into a switcher series as SP 2896 in 1978.

At some point, she was RE-renumbered back into her previous number of 3640 back into the freight pool.
