SP 5770

This loco was built in 3/1957 with EMD construction number 22952. It was built as a freight engine. It was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on each end.
She was assigned number SP 3611 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 3800 in 1/1977.
She is reported to be one of the (if not THE) last units to wear black widow colors. She is also once of the few locos to sport the "half-widow" scheme, a partial repaint done in a hurry by shop forces to get the unit back on the road.
