This loco was built in 3/1957 with EMD construction number 22942. She was built as a freight engine. She was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on each end.
She was assigned number SP 3601 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 3799 in 1/1977.
She was renumbered into a switcher series as SP 2875 in 1978.
