This loco was built in 3/1957 with EMD construction number 22938. It was built as a freight engine. It was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on each end.
She was assigned number SP 3597 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 3770 in 11/1974.
