This loco was built in 2/1957 with EMD serial number 22924. She was built as a freight engine. She was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on each end.

She was assigned number SP 3583 in the 1965 system renumbering.

She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 3733 in 12/1971.
