This loco was built in 1/1957 with EMD construction number 22920. It was built as a freight engine. It was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on each end.

She was assigned number SP 3579 in the 1965 system renumbering.

She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 3790 in 6/1976.

In 1987, this unit was sold to Louisiana & Delta and became LDRR 1752.
