This loco was built in 4/1956 with EMD construction number 21385. She was built as a freight engine. She was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on each end.
She was assigned number SP 3525 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 3393 in 12/1973.
She was renumbered into a switcher series as SP 2898 in 1978.
