This loco was built in 2/1956 with EMD construction number 21319. It was built as a freight engine. It was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on each end.
She was assigned number SP 3459 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 3356 in 6/1972.
