SP 5601

This loco was built in 6/1954 with EMD builder's number 19559. It was built as a passenger engine with a boiler in the nose. It was setup with dual control stands for operation in either direction, thus it had wings on the front and rear. It was painted in standard for the time black widow colors and featured Pyle oscilating dish signal lights on both ends.
At some point, she was repainted from black widow into bloody nose paint scheme. It is not known exactly when this was done, but photo evidence indicates that at least by 1970 she had been repainted.
She was assigned number SP 3002 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She entered the GRIP program and emerged as SP 3193 in 2/1978.
