SP GP40M-2 page
This page is dedicated to SP fleet of GP40M-2 locomotives. The SP purchased several groups of former EMD GP40's rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen to GP40-2 specifications. They were denoted as model GP40M-2 and are easily distinguished from SP/SSW's new-built GP40-2's by their lack of typical SP headlight packages fore or aft.
