SSW 7605

This loco was built in 01-03/1966 with EMD construction number 31488. She was built as a freight engine. She was painted in standard for the time bloody nose colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on the front and a horizontal dual sealed beam headlight on the rear.
At some point prior to August 1977, she was fitted with a replacement center cooling fan of 36" vs. the factory standard 48" fan for a GP40 giving her a unique appearance. It is not known how long this variation lasted.
She was rebuilt as part of the GRIP program in early 1982 and given new number SSW 7965.
