This loco was built in 2/1963 with EMD construction number 28178. It was built as a freight engine. It was painted in standard for the time bloody nose colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on each end.

She was assigned number SSW 5006 in the 1965 system renumbering.

This locomotive has been preserved at the Cotton Belt Railroad Museum in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
