This loco was built in 4/1962 with EMD construction number 27350. She was built as a freight engine. She was painted in standard for the time bloody nose colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on each end.

She was assigned number SP 4079 in the 1965 system renumbering.

She was not rebuilt as part of the GRIP program.
