This loco was built in 09/1951 with EMD construction number 12830. It was built as a 1500 hp F7 B-unit. It was painted in the SP's standard for the time black widow colors.
She was transferred to the Pacific Lines as SP 8289 on 12/31/1952.
She was retired on 07/26/1968 and sold to EMD on 08/06/1968.
