This loco was built in 05/1953 with EMD construction number 18371. It was built as a 1500 hp F7 A unit. It was painted in the SP's standard for the time black widow colors.
She was retired on 09/17/1969 and sold to GE on 09/17/1969. She was brokered through Chrome Crankshaft to the DT&I railroad as trade in fodder to EMD. She was scrapped at EMD's LaGrange, IL plant by 05/1970.
