This loco was built in 01/1953 with EMD construction number 17217. It was built as a 1500 hp F7 A unit. It was painted in the SP's standard for the time black widow colors.
She was transferred to the SP and renumbered as SP 6470 on 07/31/1961.
She was retired on 12/10/1969 and sold to GE on 12/09/1969.
