SSW 920D
This loco was built in 6/1945 with EMD construction number 3230. It was built as an FT A-unit. It was painted in the SSW's Confederate grey and yellow scheme, but was eventually repainted into the new standard for the time black widow colors.
She was involved in a serious wreck on the Missiouri Pacific at Renault, Illinois on November 16, 1948 along with three other SSW FT units. She was sent back to EMD in late 1948 to be rebuilt.
Her alpha suffix was done away with when the FT fleet was renumbered in April 1949. She became SSW 923.
She was sold to EMD for trade-in fodder for new GP20's in 11/1960.
