This loco was built in 08/1952 with EMD construction number 16586. It was built as a 1500 hp F7 A-unit. It was painted in the SP's standard for the time black widow colors.
She was wrecked (along with sister SP 6404) in a wreck on 07/26/1958 at Imlay, NV, retired on 11/14/1958 and scrapped at Sacramento, CA shops on 02/1959.
