SP 6402
This loco was built in 8/1952 with EMD construction number 16583. She was built as a 1500 hp F7 A-unit. She was painted in the SP's standard for the time black widow colors.
She was retired on 12/18/1969 and donated to the Pacific Coast Chapter, Railway & Locomotive Historical Society on 12/31/1969.
She was deeded to the California State Railroad Museum on 06/22/1978. The CSRM website lists her as "operable" however, from comments I have received, "stored inoperable" seems to be a more correct status.
