This loco was built in 11/1950 with EMD construction number 10614. She was built as a 1500 hp F7 A-unit. She was painted in the SP's standard for the time black widow colors.

She was retired on 07/28/1969 and sold to GE (via Precision Engineering Corp.) on 08/21/1969.

At some point soon afterwards, she was sold to the Wellsville, Addison & Galeton as WAG 47. She was later transferred to Louisiana & North West as L&NW 47 and operated for many years in north Louisiana.

In 1989, she was sold to Excursion Trains Inc. as their engine 2000 for use out of Galveston, TX in excursion service. As of 2002, she was stored at the Center for Transportation & Commerce (railroad museum) in Galveston. She was sadly destroyed due to the effects of hurricane Ike on 09/13/2008 that severely damaged much of the museum.
