This loco was built in 08/1949 with EMD construction number 7114. It was built as a 1500 hp F7 A-unit. It was painted in the SP's standard for the time black widow colors.
Her alpha suffix was done away with when the F7 fleet was renumbered in late 1949 as she became SP 6228.
She was wrecked on 07/26/1958 at Imlay, NV and scrapped at Sacramento shops 1n 02/1959.
