This loco was built in 06/1949 with EMD construction number 8191. It was built as a 1500 hp F7 B-unit. It was painted in the SP's standard for the time black widow colors.
Her alpha suffix was done away with when the F7 fleet was renumbered in late 1949 as she became SP 8104.
She was transferred to the T&NO and renumbered as T&NO 529 (2nd) on 12/17/1952.
She was returned to the Pacific Lines and given her 1949 number of SP 8104 on 03/03/1957.
She was retired on 08/05/1972 and sold to GE on 11/01/1972.
