This loco was built in 02/1949 with EMD construction number 7094. It was built as a 1500 hp F3 B-unit. It was painted in the SP's standard for the time black widow colors.
Her alpha suffix was done away with when the F3 fleet was renumbered in late 1949 as she became SP 8068.
She was transferred to the T&NO and renumbered as T&NO 505 on 03/01/1957.
She was returned to the Pacific Lines and renumbered to her previous identity as SP 8068 on 03/21/1960.
She was retired on 02/26/1965 and sold to EMD on 03/09/1965.
