This loco was built in 01/1949 with EMD construction number 7083. It was built as a 1500 hp F3 B-unit. It was painted in the SP's standard for the time black widow colors.
Her alpha suffix was done away with when the F3 fleet was renumbered in late 1949 as she became SP 8057.
She was transferred to the T&NO and renumbered as T&NO 502 on 03/02/1957.
She was retired and sold to GE on 12/11/1964.
