SP 4862
This loco was built in 4/1965 with ALCO construction number 3401-18. She was built as a freight engine. She was painted in standard for the time bloody nose colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on the front and a single sealed beam headlight on the rear.
She was renumbered as SP 7121 in the 1965 system renumbering.
While on lease to the L&N she was involved in a wreck and returned to the SP with a replacement GE cab. She wore this modification until she was rebuilt as a yard slug.
She was rebuilt as a heavy yard slug on 07/03/1973 and renumbered SP 1000. .
