This loco was built in 4/1965 with ALCO construction number 3401-12. She was built as a freight engine. She was painted in standard for the time bloody nose colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on the front and a single sealed beam headlight on the rear.
She was renumbered as SP 7115 in the 1965 system renumbering.
She was rebuilt as a heavy yard slug on 07/31/1973 and renumbered SP 1001.
