This loco was built in 1/1980 with GE serial number 42801. She was built as a freight engine. She was painted in standard for the time bloody nose colors and featured a full 5 light headlight arrangement on both the front and rear end.

At some point after the SP/D&RGW merger, she received a new coat of SP Speed Lettering and became SP 7787 with SSW sub-lettering under the road number on her cab.
