These cars were built by GATC in 5-6/1970. They were rated at 288,000 lb. capacity at 42,800 gal. They were assigned to Hexamethylenediamine, Tetrahydrofuran, Methanol and Ethylene Glycol service for DuPont. They rode on 6-wheel Buckeye Steel Castings trucks. In later years, they appear to have been sold or transferred to DAK Americas LLC as several have been reported wearing these marks with 296xx series numbers. A check of the online UMLER system in January 2009 shows DAKX 29644, 29646, 29649 & 29651 active.
