The 50'-6", 50-ton box cars were built by PS (Lot 8211) 2/1955 as PS-1s. They featured alternate center rivets on their sides, 8' sliding doors and 4975 ft3 capacity.

Over the years, these forty cars were part of five different number groups. It is not certain exactly why these cars were so heavily renumbered. Any input would be appreciated.
