WP 3540:
This loco was built in 9/1971 with EMD serial number 37851. She was built as a freight roadswitcher, model GP40.
She was renumbered to WP 1776 and repainted into a special red, white and blue scheme to commemorate the American Bicentennial.
She was renumbered back to WP 3540 and repainted back to WP standard colors after the Bicentennial.
She was wrecked (along with WP 3527) at Hayward, CA on 4/4/1980 and subsequently scrapped.
