WP 3538

This loco was built in 9/1971 with EMD serial number 37849. She was built as a freight roadswitcher, model GP40.

She became UP 686 in the early 1980's when UP merged with the Western Pacific.

She was sold for continued service and became CMNW 3021.

She became GWWR 3021.

She was rebuilt as a GP40M-2 by Morrison-Knudsen and became SSW 7280.
