WP 2001:
This loco was built in 11/1959 with EMD serial number 25623. She was built as a freight roadswitcher, model GP20. She featured a factory high short hood and large headlight at each end. She was the first production GP20 built, even prior to the initial demonstrator units.
She was repainted from her original silver and orange paint scheme to the new WP green and orange paint scheme between 1969 and 1974, retaining her original large headlight.
Her large headlight was replaced at some point between 1974 and 1976 with a standard twin sealed beam headlight.
Around 1985 she was donated to the WP Railroad Museum in Portola, CA. She was eventually repainted into her original silver and orange paint scheme, but it appears that her headlight has never been replaced to the original large style creating an anacronism as she never operated in this configuration in service for the WP.
