HK-50-5 Ballast Hoppers:
UP 88000-88899 OW 88900-88999
These 2-bay, 50-ton ballast hoppers were built by AC&F in 9-11/1943. They featured composite construction and 1792 ft3 capacity. They were assigned to class HK-50-5 as ballast hoppers, but were obviously used in revenue service as well.
They receive steel sheathing in 1951.
