These 40'-6", 50-ton, box cars were built as above in 1947. They featured 6' Youngstown sliding doors, dreadnaught ends and 3928 ft3 capacity.

A group of these cars were rebuilt by UP Omaha, Denver & Albania Shops to double-plug door cars for grain loading in 1965-1966 and re-classed as BF-50-1 cars and renumbered to UP 112000-112599 & 112600-113099.
