Welcome to the T&NO Freight Cars Page. Here we will present a collection of images of freight cars of the Texas & New Orleans Railroad. These images will be presented in numerical order of the road number. The purpose is to present information helpful the freight car modeler or historian. Submissions are always welcome.
The T&NO was a subsidiary of the SP for lines in Texas & Louisiana due to a Texas law at the time requiring railroads operating within Texas to be seperately incorporated there. The law was finally repealed and the T&NO was absorbed into the parent SP in November 1961. Freight cars were slowly remarked with SP reporting marks and new 6-digit numbers. The last T&NO lettered cars left the ORER in 1968.
