This loco was built in 8/1971 with EMD serial number 7373-1. She was built as a road switcher, model GP38 with a low hood and no dynamic brakes.
She was stored in the St. Louis area for several years in the early 2000s.
She was rebuilt to a GP38-2 and became EVWR 3839.
