This loco was built in 10/1950 with EMD serial number 11992. She was built as a freight roadswitcher, model GP7. She featured a sealed beam headlight in her front and rear ends. As with all Frisco GP7's, she did not feature dynamic brakes.
She was bought by the ICG and assigned interim number ICG 83 until she could enter the Paducah rebuild program.
She was rebuilt by ICGs Paducah, KY Shops to a GP8 and became ICG 7736 in 6/1975.
