This loco was rebuilt in 2/1981 from GP9 SCL 1015 (ex SAL 1916) by SCL Uceta shops. After rebuild, she retained her EMD serial number 21518 but became what SCL referred to as a GP16. She was released in Family Lines paint.

She became SBD 4627.

She became CSXT 1727.

She was retired on 01/13/1993, sold and became SKOL 1727.
