This loco was built in 10/1956 with EMD serial number 22648. She was built as a freight engine. She featured a sealed beam headlight in her front and rear ends. As with all SAL GP9s, she did not feature dynamic brakes.
She became SCL 1049.
She was rebuilt into a GP16 by SCL Uceta, FL Shops in 3/1981 and became SCL 4628.
She became SBD 4628.
She became CSXT 1728.
