SAL 1904:
This loco was built in 11/1955 with EMD serial number 21073. She was built as a freight engine. She featured a sealed beam headlight in her front and rear ends. As with all SAL GP9s, she did not feature dynamic brakes.
She became SCL 1004.
There is some disagreement between sources as to the subsequent history of this locomotive. One source, the book SEABOARD MOTIVE POWER by Calloway and Withers says that she was retired but the 1991 CSX Locomotive Specification Book says that she was rebuilt to GP16 SCL 4624, later becoming CSXT 1724. The online source trainweb.org/sclgp16 agrees with the CSX Book and lists her retired as of 01/13/1993.
