This loco was built in 11/1955 with EMD serial number 21069. She was built as a freight engine. She featured a sealed beam headlight in her front and rear ends. As with all SAL GP9's, she did not feature dynamic brakes.

She became SCL 1053.

She became SBD 1053.

She was retired and presumed scrapped.
