These carbon black covered hopper cars were built by Thrall as above. They featured 4727 ft3 capacity. When the Phillips fleet was split between Sid Richardson and J.M. Huber in 1986, 66 of the 73 cars of this series came to Sid Richardson. The remaining seven cars went to J.M. Huber. The J.M. Huber cars ended up with Engineered Carbons (ECQX.)
