This loco was built in 11/1989 with EMD serial number 887007-2. She was built as a freight roadswitcher, model GP59, with a low, short hood.

She was repainted to SOU 4610 as a Southern heritage unit in the mid 1990s.

She became NS 4610 in the early 2010s.
