NS 9:
This loco was built in 9-10/1963 with EMD serial number 27780. She was built as a road switcher, model GP18 with a low short hood.
She became SOU 188 when the Norfolk Southern was merged into the Southern. The Southern modified her with the addition of a high short hood to conform with their preference at the time.
