This loco was built in 6/1960 with EMD serial number 26027. She was built as a freight roadswitcher, model GP18 with a high hood, no dynamic brakes, nose-mounted bell and gyralights.

Once these units became N&W units, the gyralights were removed at some point and some units had their sealed beam headlights raised.

She became N&W 2704.
