LV 62000-62499 (to NP 36000-36299; to BN 193100-193399)
These 40'-6", 50-ton box cars were built by PS (Lot 5873) in 6/1947. They featured 7' sliding doors and 3903 ft3 capacity.
This group of cars is considered the very first "true" PS-1 cars to be built with LV 62000 having been preserved and returned to the PS Michigan City works to be displayed next to the 100,000th PS-1 built.
A group of 300 of these cars were rebuilt by Greenville Steel Car Co. (Order 906) in 9-12/1966.
