This loco was built in 6/1970 with EMD serial number 0-36313. She was built as a freight roadswitcher, model GP38.

She became SBD 6221 at the creation of the Seaboard System railroad.

She was wrecked at Lockair, GA in 11/1985 and was retired and sold for scrap in 2/1986.
