This loco was built in 10/1985 as the very first GP60 as a demonstrator unit with EMD construction number 836061-1. She was built as a freight unit. She featured pointed cab front and SP style gyralights.

She operated on the SP on long term lease, but was not purchased by the SP.

When she came off of lease to the SP, she became LLPX 6001 as a lease unit in xx/19xx.

She was finally sold to the CSX and became CSXT 6897. Photos indicate that her unique cab mounted gyralight and nose mounted UDE light have been removed, probably during lease service.
